Mercerized cotton was first obtained by the English industrialist John Mercer in the second half of the 18th century. Since then, the special treatment of natural cotton thread with caustic soda solutions has been called mercerization.
Durable and silky, soft and resilient mercerized cotton in appearance resembles a silk thread. Products made from this material do not shed and do not fade in the sun, they are pleasant to wear, it is difficult to tear or deform them.
Things made of processed fiber are distinguished by comfort and environmental friendliness, lasting color and slightly noticeable sheen, which gives the fabrics nobility and charm. During processing, numerous small fibers are removed from the surface of the cotton thread, so the fiber becomes even and smooth, like silk.
